The .300 Weatherby Magnum was introduced by Roy Weatherby in 1944 as a high-velocity cartridge, built on the .300 H&H Magnum parent case. This caliber was designed to deliver superior ballistic performance over traditional .30 caliber cartridges by increasing velocity and flatness of trajectory. Notably, the case features Weatherby’s characteristic double-radius shoulder and belted design, facilitating smoother chambering and extraction.
With a case length of 2.825 inches and an overall length of 3.56 inches, the .300 Weatherby Magnum can accommodate a wide range of bullet weights, typically ranging from 150 to 220 grains.
