The Hornady Aeromatch is a premium projectile designed for precision target shooting, catering to competitive marksmen and demanding reloaders seeking consistent performance. Engineered as a full metal jacket boat tail (FMJ-BT) bullet, its construction emphasizes aerodynamics and uniformity, ensuring tight groupings at extended ranges. While not intended for expansion due to its FMJ design, the Aeromatch excels in delivering deep penetration, making it a versatile option for long-range target applications rather than hunting or self-defense. The bullet's lack of expansion is balanced by its superior weight retention, maintaining structural integrity upon impact with non-deforming targets, a critical factor for repeated accuracy. Reloaders will appreciate the meticulous construction of this projectile, offering match-grade consistency and ease of use in various reloading setups. While not specifically designed for hunting, it can be considered in calibers such as .308 Winchester or .223 Remington for small to medium game. However, users should prioritize appropriate target specifications when selecting this bullet.
