What is the ApexLOAD PRO Shot Group Analyzer?

The ApexLOAD PRO Shot Group Analyzer is a free tool that measures your shooting groups from a single photo. You print one of our targets, shoot it, snap a picture with your phone, and the tool tells you how your group actually performed — no rulers, no calipers, no guesswork. Take a photo of your target, upload it, and the analyzer reads your hits and reports your group size and where it landed relative to your aim.

What it measures

From one photo, the analyzer gives you:

• Group size (extreme spread) in millimeters and in MOA

• Mean radius — a more stable measure of your group's true precision

• Point of impact — how far your group's center sits from your aiming point (up/down and left/right)

• Shot count — how many hits it detected

Because you enter your shooting distance, every result is also expressed in MOA, so you can compare groups across different distances on equal terms.

How it works

1. Download a target. Pick one of our free ApexLOAD targets (A4 or US Letter, English or German).

2. Print it at 100%. Use "Actual Size," not "Fit to page," so the scale stays exact.

3. Shoot it at the range.

4. Take a photo with your phone — straight on, in good light, with all four corner markers in frame — or scan it.

5. Upload the photo, enter your distance, and optionally choose your caliber.

6. Click Analyze. The tool finds your shots and marks each one.

7. Fine-tune if needed. Drag a marker, delete a false detection, or add a hit the tool missed — the results update live as you edit.

8. Save (only Pro Users) or print your result.

9. Link shot group analysis to an existing diary load to keep track of how a specific load is performing. The results are then also visible when viewing the respective diary load (only Pro Users)

Why is it accurate?

Each ApexLOAD target has four markers in the corners. The analyzer uses them to correct for camera angle and to lock onto the exact scale of the sheet, so it can convert pixels in your photo into true millimeters. That's why the measurement stays accurate even when your photo isn't perfectly square to the target — and it's why you need to use an ApexLOAD target rather than your own.

What do I need to use it?

Just a printed ApexLOAD target, a firearm, and a phone camera. No special equipment, no software to install, and no login.
